My SPF Must-Haves for Summer 19

Growing up, you always hear people scold you into wearing your sunscreen. But it wasn’t until my 20’s that I really truly cared about it. Sure, I’d wear sunscreen, but I wasn’t using the right products and I definitely wasn’t reapplying in the ways that I should have been.

What people don’t realize is that even when we aren’t sitting in direct sunlight, we are constantly being exposed to UVA, UVB, the blue light emitted from our computers, infrared radiation, pollution, etc. All of which can negatively impact our skin. Fortunately, wearing SPF can make these things a little less harsh on our skin. As summer approaches, I’ve gathered some of my favorite sunscreens to share with you.

Supergoop! Superscreen Daily Moisturizer SPF 40

Super Goop is an incredible brand that has several different options when it comes to sunscreen. Two of my favorite products of theirs is the Superscreen Daily Moisturizer and the Unseen Sunscreen. This moisturizer is everything you could want in a sunscreen. It makes for the best everyday moisturizer containing SPF 40 along with blue-green algae to nourish the skin, cerium to shield blue light, and several other ingredients to protect against the pollution that we encounter on a day-to-day basis.

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40

An award-winning face primer and sunscreen containing SPF 40 all in 1. This product has a light-weight formula that makes it perfect to layer makeup over. A sunscreen that doesn’t leave you feeling greasy or with a white cast??? I didn’t even know that was possible until I tried this one. It leaves a radiant glow, making it easy to rock on a no-makeup day or with makeup. With ingredients like red algae to block blue light, frankincense to soothe the skin, and traces of meadowfoam seed to hydrate, this is definitely one of my favorites.

Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense SPF 30

Whenever I make a Drunk Elephant purchase, I know I’m getting a whole lot more with my product than I anticipated. Drunk Elephant is like the queen of multi-tasking when it comes to skincare with additional ingredients that target different things. When purchasing a sunscreen from Drunk Elephant, I knew I was getting more than I bargained for. Drunk Elephant’s sunscreen is infused with powerful antioxidants and enriched oils, leaving me with skin that glows to the gods while protecting it from the sun with an SPF of 30. They also sell a tinted version, the  Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense, for those of you who want to get even more out of this product.

PCA Skin Weightless Protection Broad Spectrum SPF 45

I’m a huge advocate of PCA Skincare, so when I realized they sold sunscreen, I needed to get my hands on it. PCA’s sunscreen is just as weightless as it claims to be, super lightweight and breathable for those hot summer days. I even find that I can easily apply it underneath my makeup with no problem. This product is perfect for those who may deal with oily or acne-prone skin. I have the Perfecting Protection pictured in the photo bc I just ran out of the Weightless Protection. Both are great, but my vote is for their Weightless Protection.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Zinc Oxide Sunscreen SPF 50

This sunscreen is for all my girls with sensitive skin who avoid wearing sunscreen because of the heavy, sticky feel that you get with most sunscreens. You no longer have an excuse not to wear sunscreen thanks to La Roche-Posay! This product does not leave a white cast and actually has a matte finish, which is hard to come by when it comes to sunscreen.

Coola Makeup Setting Spray SPF 30

It can be really hard to come by products that are made of clean ingredients. However, Coola is a 70% organic sunscreen that contains SPF 30. This makeup setting spray is a wonderful product as it protects you from harmful UV rays while incorporating other great ingredients into it that will keep your skin looking youthful and nourished. If you’re someone who deals with sensitive skin, this might be the one for you! It’s even unscented so you don’t have to worry about all those extra unnecessary ingredients. I love using this to reapply my SPF when I’m out and wearing makeup during summer days. It is the BEST.
