If I had to keep one piece, it might be the black mini. It is the rare thing that works with everything, dresses up or down in a single swap, and never feels like it is trying too hard.

What to look for

A-line or slightly structured, hitting at the right length, in a fabric that holds its shape. Spend a little more here than you think you should.
