What to Wear in London in Summer (Without Overpacking)
London in July is warm afternoons and cool evenings, gardens and galleries. Here is the elevated, layerable edit I pack for a week in the city.

London summer is its own genre: warm by three, cool by nine, and you are always one rain shower from needing a layer. The move is elevated separates you can build up and peel back through the day.
Start with a base, add a layer
A slip dress or wide trousers and a fine knit form the base. A tailored overshirt or a trench does the temperature work. Neutral, easy, photogenic against London brick.
Shoes you can actually walk in
You will walk ten miles a day without meaning to. Flats and a low block heel only. Save the rest for the photos.
One evening look
For dinner in Soho or a rooftop, a single dress that reads polished with minimal effort. Add the jewelry, keep everything else quiet.
Pin this for your trip, and read where I am dreaming of staying in Sardinia for the second half of my summer.
Notes from a slower life
Now and then, a letter: where I have wandered in Italy, what I am reading and wearing, and the quiet in between.
